The master's thesis examines the complex and multifaceted relationship between football, politics and human rights, using the example of the World Cup in football. As one of the most popular and influential sports in the world, football serves as a powerful platform for political expression, nationalism and social change, but its involvement in politics also raises critical concerns and controversies about human rights. In the theoretical part, I delved into researching cases of political interference in football organizations, which raised questions about the
integrity of the sport. In addition, the work examines how football stadiums and events have been implicated in human rights issues, including labor rights violations during construction and safety issues. The empirical part was carried out through an anonymous survey, which I shared on my Instagram profile and later analysed. The questions concerned the general follow-up of football and its intersection with politics, racism and human rights violations.
