Abstract

Title:Analysis of the feasibility of outsorcing in the selected organisation
Abstract:
Outsourcing is a professional practice in which an organization transfers certain functions or processes to external contractors. The thesis aims to present external contractors at the University Clinical Center of Ljubljana and analyze their performance. The entire concept of the operation of external contractors in healthcare will also be examined. Answers to the posed research questions will be sought using the deductive method and the compilation method. These methods were used to verify why the organization uses external contractors in its operations. In addition to the mentioned methods, the thesis also contains case studies and analysis of collected data. It was established that the Council of the University Clinical Center decides on the selection of external contractors. The most important selection factor is cost-effectiveness. In addition, the generalized findings of the thesis show that UKC optimally uses external contractors in terms of costs. The thesis represents a contribution to the study of management in healthcare organizations. When writing the thesis, there were quite a few restrictions regarding access to data, which are reflected in the quality of the analysis performed. Nevertheless, the thesis represents an incentive for further study of the issue of external providers of health services and contributes to all those who decide on the possibility of outsourcing work and to all those who are considering the use of external providers in their organization. The findings expand the knowledge base in this field and encourage further scientific research.
