Abstract
V okviru magistrskega dela smo razvili dve idejni zamisli: ambientalni mobile in ploskovno svileno kopreno, iz katere smo oblikovali uporaben izdelek z možnostjo nadaljnjega "odprtega" oblikovanja uporabnika.

Title:Silk thread at intersection of design and art
Abstract:
The master's work focuses on the integration of different fields, such as design, practical installations and textile art. In this work, silk was central as a means of expression because its origin and sustainable nature make it a delicate yet expressive element that fits the philosophy of biorealism. The silk curtain connected the interiors with the natural environment, creating a "natural" atmosphere. The central goal was to create simultaneously artistic and useful silk products, the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between different actors. In the master's thesis we highlighted the importance and influence of space on our perception and introduced the main actors from which we drew inspiration for further work. Entering a space triggers a complex response that combines different sensory stimuli such as colors, shapes, textures, light and shadows. The spatial silk products combine all these abstract art elements and create a sense of wholeness and a pleasant atmosphere, which was the central goal of combining design and art in this work. It was important to rethink textiles as a research material in both fields to open the door to new forms of creative thinking. The development of new forms and approaches through different techniques and materials, not only silk, had an innovative impact on artistic and design creation. With the emphasis on textiles as a key element in space, patterns and textures with cultural (and perhaps historical) value were created. As part of the master's thesis, we developed two conceptual ideas: an ambient mobile and a flat silk veil, from which we created a useful product with the possibility of further "open" design for the user. Both products belong to the so-called functional art, created at the intersection of art and design. The mobile, made with 3D printing, is able to create a special atmosphere in different spatial contexts in the sense of a natural sensor of well-being - it perceives environmental conditions such as light and movement and, based on this, adjusts its fluidity and interaction with the space, which can have a positive or meditative effect on the well-being of the person. A silk veil is a textile that softens and transforms a space because it allows light to pass through and, as a textile, complements the space with its structural properties. The entire methodology of the master's thesis included several phases: Analysis of the space and the elements present in it, design, visualization and preparation of files for the implementation of 3D printing of support forms for silk, the phase of two-dimensional inclusion of silkworms directly on the spatial forms, virtual and actual placement of the finished products in different spaces and their photographic presentation.
