In the diploma thesis, a diary enriched with folk stories full of wisdom was created. The design aimed for a natural, aesthetic, simplistic look that would encourage the user to write and think. In the theoretical part, we explain what a diary is and furthermore delve into positive effects of keeping a diary. The description of the invasive alien plant Fallopia (knotweed) and the properties of the paper made from it follow. The experimental part reveals the design process of the diary in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. The illustrations for the diary were digitised and used in the entire dairy as individual elements. The printing method used was electrophotography. A test print was carried out first on standard 80-gsm commercial office paper and then on knotweed paper. After the test print, the body of the book was printed on uncoated 90-gsm knotweed paper. By arranging the sheets, a book block was made and sewn together with a thread. The spine was glued with water-based adhesive, the cover made of cardboard was attached to the book block. The book spine remained exposed. With the design, we intended to illustrate how a man and his consciousness are made up of many individual layers, arranged in a meaningful way, as if they were sewn together.
