Abstract
Delež obnovljivih virov energije v zadnjih letih narašča. Z naraščanjem deleža obnovljivih virov energije se pojavlja potreba po vpeljavi tehnologij za dnevno in sezonsko hranjenje viškov elektrike proizvedene iz obnovljivih virov energije. V diplomskem delu predstavimo tehnologijo pretvarjanja elektrike v plin kot eno od tehnologij, katere bodo v kratko in srednjeročni prihodnosti igrale pomembno vlogo pri razogljičenju družbe. Na podlagi analize obstoječe literature smo izdelali pregled procesnih sistemov potrebnih za pretvarjanje elektrike v plin, ter izdelali primerjalno analizo že obstoječih in delujočih demonstracijskih projektov pretvarjanja elektrike v metan.

Title:Analysis of the catalytic biomethanation process
Abstract:
The share of renewable energy sources has been increasing in recent years. With the increase in the share of renewable energy, the need to develop and implement technologies for daily and seasonal storage of excess electricity produced from renewable energy sources rises as well. In this thesis, we present the technology for converting excess electricity into gas as one of the technologies that will play an important role in the decarbonization of society in short and medium term. Based on the analysis of the existing literature, an overview of the process systems required for the conversion of electricity into gas was presented, a comparative analysis of already existing and working demonstration projects of converting electricity into gas was prepared and presented.
