Abstract
Cilj magistrskega dela je, da se na podlagi dostopnih arheoloških in pisanih virov prvič celovito rekonstruirata gospodarsko življenje Sirmija in njemu pripadajočega mestnega ozemlja, ter spremembe v ekonomskih dinamikah obdobja od vzpostavitve rimske oblasti na prehodu stare v novo ero do petega desetletja V. stoletja, ko mesto pade pod hunsko oblast. Obravnavane veje gospodarskega življenja so kmetijstvo (poljedelstvo in živinoreja), kostna industrija, obdelava kože, dobava in obdelava lesa, opekarstvo, lončarstvo, obdelava kovin, steklarstvo, dobava in obdelava kamna, umetnost (mozaiki in stenske poslikave) in sužnjelastništvo.

Title:Gospodarske aktivnosti in njihove spremembe v antičnem Sirmiju in njegovi okolici
Abstract:
The goal of this MA thesis is to integrally reconstruct for the first time the economic life in Sirmium and its city territory and changes in the dynamism of this economic life from the beginning of the Roman rule (the transition from the Old into the New Era) until the fall of the city under the Huns in the fifth decade of the fifth century on the basis of the available archaeological and written sources. The branches of the economic life analysed in this thesis are agriculture and animal husbandry, bone industry, leatherworking, obtaining and processing wood, brick production, pottery making, metal processing, glass-making, obtaining and processing stone, art such as mosaics and wall-paintings and slave ownership.
