This thesis discusses Old Testimony’s Song of Solomon and its later depictions in Croatian literature, specifically in the works of Janko Polić Kamov. Throughout history, the Bible’s Song of Solomon was interpretated in various ways and was observed through different points of view. It is without a doubt that the allegorical interpretation assumed greater importance in the current of history, whilst the literal interpretation of the poem only came into being in the past two hundred years. The forementioned Croatian author approached the literal interpretation in the beginning of the 20th century, when he altered the poem entirely. With this change, he slowly but steadily inaugurated a new esthetical, poetical, and ethical model into the Croatian literary space.
