Abstract

Title:Geographical evaluation of potential spatial developments in the area of the Slano blato landslide.
Abstract:
The Slano blato area represents a relatively large empty space of a partially rehabilitated landslide, where various projects could potentially be located in the context of spatial planning. The area of around 15 hectares has been subject to several episodes of landslides throughout its history. The last time a landslide was activated in the form of a strong landslide was in 2000, since when it has been in the form it is known today. In addition to the presentation of the Slano blato landslide, the thesis also presents the rehabilitation work carried out, which is a prerequisite for the implementation of the various projects in the study area. The central theme of the thesis is the evaluation of the suitability of potential projects that could be implemented in the area of the landslide. For this purpose, we relied on a comparative method, analysis and evaluation of (technical) data from professional and scientific articles, journals, local and regional news and reliable websites. Each project was evaluated using the same criteria and the results are presented in the table below. Within the set of projects evaluated, afforestation proved to be the most suitable, the construction of a bicycle park was the second most suitable development, while the feasibility of the other projects was significantly lower due to various constraints, which also made them less suitable for implementation. The Slano blato landslide area is a specific area, due to its susceptibility to landslides, where a high degree of caution is needed in any intervention in the area, otherwise the desired revitalisation may only lead to even greater damage instead of the desired revitalisation.
