Diplomsko delo preučuje mesto Kranj v obdobju 16. in 17. stoletja, osredotočajoč se na njegovo kulturno, družbeno in arhitekturno podobo. Cilj dela je razkriti celovito podobo mesta v obravnavanem zgodovinskem obdobju. Posebna pozornost je namenjena tudi Mestni hiši, ki se je v tem času uveljavila kot simbol mestne identitete. Delo se podrobno posveča njeni zunanji arhitekturni podobi, notranji prostorski ureditvi ter vlogi mestne hiše v samem mestnem jedru. Uporabljene metode pregleda temeljijo na študiju že obstoječe literature. Skozi analizo različnih aspektov mesta Kranj želi to delo prispevati k bolj celovitemu razumevanju zgodovine tega mesta ter njegovega pomembnega položaja v širšem zgodovinskem kontekstu.

Abstract

The thesis examines the town of Kranj in the 16th and 17th centuries, focusing on its cultural, social and architectural image. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the overall image of the city in the historical period under consideration. Special attention is also paid to the Town hall, which at this time has established itself as a symbol of the city's identity. The thesis focuses in detail on its external architectural appearance, its internal spatial arrangement and the role of the Town hall in the city centre itself. The research methodologies used are based on a study of existing literature. By analysing different aspects of Kranj, this thesis aims to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the history of Kranj and its important position in the broader historical context.
