Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava pomen odprtih bivalnih površin v stanovanjskih soseskah.

Title:
The importance of open living spaces: The conceptual design of the residental neighbourhood along Parmova Street in Ljubljana
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the importance of open living spaces in residential neighborhoods. A more detailed elaboration of the criteria is based on the conceptual design of the residential neighborhood along Parmova Street in Ljubljana. Today, the area in question is completely degraded and, despite its exceptional potential, it is not taking advantage of its advantages. Based on professionally proven and established criteria for the design of open living areas, the thesis designs in detail the green and paved areas within the conceptual residential neighborhood and transforms the current degraded area into a new residential complex that takes into account the main and fundamental principles. These criteria are the basis for establishing a quality urban space. The new open living areas with their structure, composition and program scheme complement the built structure of the new housing development and establish a relationship between space and people. The new elements of the urban space take into account both visual-aesthetic and functional criteria and as a whole co-shape a quality urban space. The inclusion of diverse urban equipment affects the experiential experience of public space, which attracts people and establishes a meeting point for events.
