Abstract

Title:Public policy analysis of European automobile industry
Abstract:
Public policy analysis of the European automobile industry covers a broad theme of public policies and applies it on automobile industry in Europe. In the light of recent actions, which indicates a wanted elimination of vehicles emissions, the purpose of this work is to highlight key policies, especially environmental, that form the shape of this sector. Primary goal is to chronologically present and analyse measures of the EU, Norway and Slovenia. Studies have shown that particularly the last one had exceeded all expectations in terms of implementing electric vehicles into national fleet. The aim of this thesis is also to demonstrate Norway's public policies that in fact allowed it to happen and to compare them to the Europeans and Slovenians. Thesis had in fact found out Norway's highest share of electric cars in the world in the matter of new registrations and share of vehicles in use. For that reason, this work had established the importance of public policies and government subsidies for buyers of those vehicles by means of using descriptive and comparative methods and method of synthesis. Two approaches for public policy analysis were use, historical for the reasons of chronological presentation and substantive because of examination of substantive area. The expressed contribution shows the importance of public policies for long-standing planning of policy alternation in the area of automobiles, which can be supportive for public sector and government decision-makers at formulation of strategy for transition to zero-emission and green mobility.
