Abstract
Diplomska naloga je napisana z namenom, da predstavi manevrske lastnosti oziroma sposobnosti potniških ladij, predvsem največjih križark. Naloga je razdeljena v 5 velikih skupin, pri tem pa je vsako poglavje razdeljeno še v nekaj podskupin. V prvem delu naloge so opisane velike potniške ladje in njihove osnovne karakteristike, vrste in klase. Drugi del naloge je opredeljen za propulzijo potniških ladij, kar predstavlja najpomembnejšo osnovo za manevriranje z ladjo. Manevrske lastnosti so odvisne od vrste propulzijskega sistema, s katerim je ladja opremljena. Tretji del naloge predstavlja vpliv vremenskih razmer na ladjo. Glede na to, da so potniške ladje zelo visoke, predstavlja največjo težavo veter, ki lahko močno zanaša ladjo. Četrti del diplomske naloge je opredeljen za vodenje navigacijske straže in za bridge team management. Da bi ladja varno plula in manevrirala, je potrebno, da je navigacija dobro načrtovana ter da je posadka dobro pripravljena na nastop možnih težav. Peti del naloge je rezerviran za predstavo manevriranja z ladjo, vplovitev v pristanišče in uporabo simulatorja. Simulator predstavlja ključni del v izobrazbi pomorščaka in je zelo dobro orodje za izdelavo različnih maritimnih študij. Potniške ladje so zelo dobre glede manevrskih lastnosti in kot takšne tudi zelo varne. Namenjene so prevozu potnikov na krajših in daljših razdaljah, odvisno od števila potnikov in tipa ladje. Najbolj znane potniške ladje so križarke, ki so v večini primerov opremljene z najnovejšimi navigacijskimi sistemi in zelo zanesljivim in močnim sistemom propulzije. Sodobna križarka je danes običajno opremljena z azimutnima vijakoma in a propelerjema (trasterjima). Takšna izvedba propulzijskega sistema omogoča ladji samostojnost v pristanišču pri pristajanju ali izplutju. Poleg vijaka in propelerjev je ladja opremljena z zelo močnimi propulzijskimi motorji in generatorji.

Title:MANOEUVRABILITY OF A LARGE CRUISE SHIP
Abstract:
The diploma thesis is written with the purpose of presenting the maneuvering characteristics of passenger ships, primarily the largest cruise ships. The thesis is divided into 5 main sections, with each section containing several subsections. The first part of the thesis describes large passenger ships and their basic characteristics, types, and classes. The second part of the thesis focuses on the propulsion of passenger ships, which is the most important foundation for ship maneuvering. Maneuvring characteristics depend on the type of propulsion system with which the ship is equipped. The third part of the thesis discusses the impact of weather conditions on the ship. Given that passenger ships are quite tall, the greatest challenge is posed by the wind, which can affect the ship's course. The fourth part of the thesis addresses navigation watchkeeping and bridge team management. Ensuring safe navigation and maneuvering requires careful planning of navigation and well-prepared crew for potential challenges. The fifth part of the thesis is dedicated to ship maneuvering, entering ports, and the use of simulators. Simulators play a crucial role in the training of seafarers and serve as valuable tools for conducting studies. Passenger ships are very responsive whent it comes to maneuvering and, as such, are also very safe. They are designed for transporting passengers over both short and long distances, depending on the number of passengers and the type of ship. The most well-known passenger ships are cruise ships, which are often equipped with the lastes navigation systems and powerful propulsion systems. These ships feature azimuth thrusters and side thrusters in their propulsion system. This design allows the ship to operate independently in the port during berthing or departure.
