Abstract

Title:Bogomilism in Bosnia in middle ages
Abstract:
In my thesis, I dealt with the Bogomilism, limiting my research geographically to the area of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bogomilism is part of a neo-Manichean movement that has its roots in Gnosticism. This movement is interesting for research, because it is important for the historical development of Christian doctrine and the heresies that developed in it. Since the rise of Bogomilism in Bosnia was at its highest point in the 13th century and since it was attacked by the Orthodox and Catholic Church at the same time, I devoted the most attention to this period. The most important question was attitude of Bosnian Church and Bogomilism to the Western heretical sects that developed in France and Italy: to Catharism. I was also intrested in the similarity in the organization of these Churches.
