Abstract
Najhujši boji so kraj zajeli v začetku leta 1945.

Title:Stomaž during World War II and in after war period 1941-1955 : diplomsko delo
Abstract:
Stomaž is located on the southern slope of mount Čaven in upper Vipava valley. During the second world war it was firstly under the Italian and then from 1943 under the German occupation. The field committee of Liberation Front was organized in the village already in 1941. In September of 1943 it was in the village school headquarters of National Liberation Committee for Primorska region. Stomaž was also the important strategic point for controlling the road between Ajdovščina and Gorica. It was also good location for partisans for quick retreat. The worst fighting during the war happened in 1945. Unfortunately, village didn’t escape the war crimes and revolutionary violence. Local National Liberation Committee formed in the village in March of 1943 or 1944. In 1947 it was transformed into Local People’s Committee. In the village were also agricultural processing cooperative and some others crafts.
