Abstract
V Osrednjem delu diplomskega dela so predstavljene različne oblike in statistični podatki o trgovini z ljudmi v Sloveniji.

Title:Human Trafficking and modern slavery in Slovenia
Abstract:
Human Trafficking and modern slavery in Slovenia Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal activities and is second only to drug trafficking in terms of volume. Human trafficking is considered a serious violation of human rights and takes many forms. The phenomenon is increasing in size every year, and in the year 2021 it was estimated that there were around 50 million victims worldwide. In my thesis, I investigated various forms of human trafficking in Slovenia. In the introductory chapters are presented the theoretical backgrounds of the thesis as well as data on human trafficking worldwide and in the EU. In the main part of the thesis are presented the different forms and statistics of human trafficking in Slovenia. In addition there are also presented the laws of the Republic of Slovenia on the prevention of human trafficking and the institutions active in the field of combating human trafficking in Slovenia. The research is based on data from academic literature, as well as on interviews with staff from two NGOs (Ključ Association and Slovene caritas). Based on the collected information, I have confirmed the thesis that Slovenia is both a transit and destination country in the trafficking, and I have only been able to partially confirm its role as a country of origin. At the same time, the research has shown that the area of human trafficking, especially child trafficking, is insufficiently researched in Slovenia.
