Abstract
S ciljem oblikovanja uporabnega izdelka iz kovine sem v diplomskem delu preučil materiale in sodobne tehnike obdelav kovin s poudarkom na laserskem razrezu ter krivljenju. Na osnovi tehničnih in tehnoloških zmožnosti tehnologije preoblikovanja kovin sem poiskal priložnosti za oblikovanje izdelkov, ki so uporabni, kvalitetni in bodo v prihodnosti mogoče nadomestili izdelke, narejene iz manj trajnostnih materialov. Za izdelke sem poiskal ustrezno okolje uporabe ter določil uporabniške skupine. Oblikovani modularni izdelek je prilagojen posebej za uporabo v študentskih domovih. Zaradi svoje večstranske uporabe in funkcionalnosti omogoča rešitve za ugotovljene probleme, s katerimi se študentje soočajo v svojih sobah. S sistemom modularnih elementov lahko izdelek prilagajajo glede na svoje potrebe in prostorske omejitve. Na ta način se izdelek lahko uporablja za več različnih namenov, kot so sedenje, shranjevanje osebnih predmetov, odlaganje čevljev in druge praktične funkcije. Ta modularnost omogoča prilagodljivost in optimizacijo prostora v študentskih sobah, kar je še posebej pomembno zaradi omejenega prostora v takih okoljih.

Title:A useful product made using modern metal processing technologies
Abstract:
In my thesis, I studied materials and modern metalworking techniques and focused especially on laser cutting and bending with the aim of designing a useful metal product. Based on the technical and technological capabilities of metal forming technology, I looked for opportunities to design products that are useful, of high quality, and that may replace products made from less sustainable materials in the future. I identified suitable environments of use for the products and their user groups. The modular product I have designed is tailored specifically for use in student residences. Due to its versatile use and functionality, it provides solutions to the identified problems that students face in their rooms. With the modular element system, they can adapt the product according to their needs and space constraints. This way, the product can have an array of uses, such as seating, storage of personal items, shoe storage, and other practical functions. This modularity enables flexibility and space optimisation in student rooms, which is particularly important given the limited space in such environments.
