Konserviranje-restavriranje mavčnega odlitka antične glave Afrodite iz Narodne galerije

Diplomska naloga se ukvarja z zgodovino mavca in mavčnih odlitkov ter problematiko njihovega ohranjanja. Leta 1794 so v sklopu pariškega muzeja Louvre ustanovili delavnico mavčnih odlitkov. Leta 1927 je Narodna galerija od te delavnice kupila zbirko 62 mavčnih kopij antičnih kipov. Del te zbirke je kasneje posodila drugim ustanovam, med drugim tudi Akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje Univerze v Ljubljani. Mnogi odlitki so še vedno na akademiji, shranjeni v neprimernih pogojih, njihovo stanje pa se iz leta v leto slabša. V diplomski nalogi je popis teh odlitkov opremljen z osnovnimi podatki in fotografijami. Trem smo natančneje popisali stanje. Med njimi tudi odlitku Afrodite (NG P 922), na katerem smo opravili tudi konservatorsko-restavratorski poseg.

• Title: Conservation and restoration of plaster cast of antique Aphrodite's head from the National gallery

Abstract

This thesis focuses on the history of plaster and plaster casts in art, as well as the issues regarding their conservation. The Louvre museum in Paris founded a plaster cast workshop in 1794. In 1927 the National Gallery of Slovenia bought a collection of 62 plaster cast copies of ancient sculptures from the Louvre plaster cast workshop. Part of this collection was later lent to other institutions, including the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana. Many of the plaster casts remain to this day at the Academy, stored in inappropriate conditions, with their state continually worsening. This thesis includes a list of the casts located in the Academy with basic information and photographs. Three selected casts were examined and their state of conservation is reported in more detail. Lastly, the conservation-restoration treatment on the cast of Aphrodite (NG P 922) is described.
