Abstract

Title:Display methods of 3D textiles and a practical case from the Slovene ethnographic museum
Abstract:
In my bachelor's thesis, I wanted to explore and examine the analysis of varius storage, transportation and exhibition regulations and conditions for textile objects found in museums. My interest in this topic stems from the first visit to the storage facilities at the Slovene Ethnographic Museum as part of the Preventive Conservation I course. I particularly focused on the conditions and methods of storing and displaying textiles, with an emphasis on 3D items. During the practical part of the thesis, I was particulalrly interested in the various exhibition and storage methods for gloves from the museum's collection, as well as supports, that could be used for displaying, storage and restoring the gloves. Together with my co- mentor Ana Motnikar, we selected a couple of gloves from the Slovene Ethnographic Museum and developed different options for their supports.
