Teharje concentration camp was established in 1945 by the post-war authorities. It was intended mainly for members of the Slovenian Home Guard and civilians who had taken refuge in Carinthia at the end of the war and were returned to their homeland by the Allies. The undergraduate thesis presents and analyses how the Teharje concentration camp is discussed in the magazines Zaveza and Svobodna misel or Svobodna beseda. The magazine Zaveza iz published by the Nova Slovenska zaveza associaton, which is made up of former members of the Home Guard and their sympathisers. The magazine Svobodna beseda is published by Zveza združenj borcev za vrednote NOB Slovenije and their sympathizers. After Slovenia's indpendence, the Slovenian socio-political space is pemeated with talk of national reconciliation, which is reflected in the articles of mentioned magazines. It is clear that there were significantly more articles in the magazine Zaveza reffering to the concentration camp. It is dominated by the memories of survivors and their relatives, and by demands for the identification of post-war mass graves and a dignified burial of the victims. In the magazine Svobodna beseda, the only references to the camp can be found in articles that refer to specific allegations of the national liberation struggle and current events related to national reconciliation and post-war killings.
