The aim of the thesis is to create a short classic 2D animation based on our own idea
and to transfer it into the final product. During the production process, various
techniques are explored that are used to complete the final animation.
The task is divided into a theoretical and an experimental part. In the theoretical part of
the thesis, the history of animation is briefly described and which turning points had a
strong impact on the entire industry, as well as the principles of animation and various
animation techniques.
The experimental part describes the animation production process from the initial idea
to the final product. The work procedures of illustrating backgrounds and characters, as
well as animation procedures, are described. It is also briefly presented which program
(Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, After Effects and Premier Pro) and graphics
tablets were used to complete the final animation.
The result of the diploma thesis is a short 2D animation, where the main character is
drawn according to the classic technique of drawing frame by frame. When animating,
we followed the principles of animation, but most of the time we used the principles of
compression and stretching, exaggeration and arcs.
