Efficient execution of work tasks requires employees to deepen their knowledge and
skills, which they achieve through lifelong learning in the workplace. For organizations
whose employees are educated and trained on the job, it is important that this process
is successful. The purpose of this thesis was to determine how to improve the success
of elearning
at MORS by considering the factors of successful elearning.
The goal of
this thesis was to firstly identify the factors of successful elearning
in the workplace
through existing research. After that we examined to what extent these factors are
considered in elearning
in the workplace among employees at the Ministry of Defense
of the Republic of Slovenia, using a quantitative research method with questionnaire
survey. The identified factors can be categorized into four groups: infrastructure and
technical execution quality, quality of learning materials, quality of the institution,
provider or service, and learning environment and external motivators. We found that
employees engage in selfdirected
nonmandatory
learning to a significant extent, but
there is still room for improvement in considering the factors of successful elearning.
Certain challenges could be addressed with relatively minor changes, such as
providing additional computer equipment, improving communication, and publishing
content on websites. However, challenges related to organizational culture and the
leadership's attitude towards employee learning require deeper changes, such as
prioritizing workplace learning within the organization and consequently strengthening
the organizational culture towards a knowledgebased
culture. The data obtained in
the study also confirmed that the majority of identified factors are considered important
for successful elearning
in the workplace by the employees.
