Abstract
V teoretičnem delu je, ob upoštevanju relevantne domače in tuje literature, predstavljen koncept DSM, njegovi sestavni deli in pomen kombinacije z NMS. Praktični del pa vključuje opis dveh pilotnih projektov, izvedenih v Sloveniji.

Title:Analysis of an advanced electric energy metering system for demand-side management in a low-voltage network
Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the advanced metering system (AMS), while also exploring its role in the context of demand-side management (DSM) for load management at consumers. The thesis centres around two main themes: the advanced metering system and the possibilities of demand-side management for local load management. In the first part of the thesis, a thorough review of the state of the advanced metering system in the Slovenian power distribution network is provided, along with its implementation plan in the electric power system. The concept of the advanced metering system is presented, highlighting its advantages, benefits, and deployment plan in Slovenia. Additionally, system operational instructions for the distribution system within the context of the advanced metering system and typification of electrical energy measurement are presented. The conclusion of the first part elaborates on a key component of the AMS - the smart meter, emphasizing the use of a current limiting device. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the implementation of DSM strategies. The emphasis is on the importance of demand-side management among end consumers, enabling improved balance between electricity demand and production, which results in an enhanced overall performance of the entire energy system (EES). The DSM section is structured into two segments: theoretical and practical. The theoretical section outlines the concept of DSM, its constituents, and the significance of its integration with the AMS, drawing from relevant domestic and foreign literature. The practical part encompasses the description of two pilot projects executed in Slovenia.
