The paper brings the results from the linguistic analysis of 125 lesson plans for the subject mathematics. They were prepared in the academic year 2009/2010 by 4th-year primary education students at the Education Faculty in Maribor for the compulsory subject Didactics of mathematics. It describes the disregard of recommended orthographic usage in the following categories: 1. usage of capitals and lower case letters, 2. usage of mathematical signs and signs of logic, 3. joined or separate words, 4. writing of symbols.
