Abstract
Zbrani materiali so bili v drugi fazi predelani v nove, iz katerih so v končni fazi nastali novi kosi vrhnjih oblačil. Izvedbo kolekcije sem sproti dokumentirala preko Instagram profila @plastika_tekstil_oblacilo v obliki slikovnih objav in dnevnih zgodb.

Title:Campaign and sustainable collection Zojatar made from recycled artificial materials
Abstract:
The thesis focuses on researching clothing design made from waste synthetic materials and raising awareness about the issue of non-biodegradable synthetic materials in the textile industry, which excessively pollute our planet. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on sustainable design and explores the use of waste in art and fashion. I researched plastic waste, recycling, upcycling, and design technologies using synthetic materials. I also examined functional waterproof outerwear that protects the body from precipitation. Additionally, I explored the concept and content of "trashion," which represents one of the future directions in fashion, and provided an overview of various awareness campaigns and projects related to the issue of plastic pollution on our planet. In the practical part, the thesis showcases the entire process of developing the Zojatar collection, from collecting waste synthetic materials to the final transformation of these materials into wearable pieces of outerwear that make up the collection. The first phase involved raising awareness through the "plastic=textile=clothing" campaign on the social media platform Instagram and collecting plastic waste materials at various locations during the European Week for Waste Reduction in 2022. In the second phase, the collected materials were processed into new ones, which were then transformed into the final pieces of outerwear. I documented the collection's execution in real-time through the Instagram profile @plastika_tekstil_oblacilo, using image posts and daily stories. The result is the sustainable Zojatar clothing collection, carefully planned and designed from waste synthetic materials. With its aesthetics and wearability, it changes the perception of discarded materials and the understanding that waste is something useless and without value. Through this thesis, I also aim to raise public awareness about environmental issues caused by the excessive use and production of synthetic materials in the textile industry.
