In my master's thesis, I research the reorganization of centers for social work and opportunities for improving their operations. In the theoretical part, I write about centers for social work, basic concepts of social work for work at CSW, reorganization of organizations, reorganization of CSW and the views of the Association of Social Workers of Slovenia on the implementation of the reorganization of CSW. I was interested in what were the main changes at the CSW during the reorganization?; what do employees and managers see as advantages and disadvantages of the CSW reorganization?; What factors support the implemented reorganization in terms of how it was conceived and what hinders it?; What is and what will be the role of the profile of social workers at CSW?; As a result of the reorganization, how well can social workers perform social work at the CSW?; What are the concrete proposals regarding the reorganization of the CSW?; What do the employees think about the development of the CSW and the implementation of social work at the CSW in the future? The research is exploratory, applied, developmental and qualitative. The measurement instrument was the interview guide. Population 1 are all acting directors at 16 CSW, who performed this work from 22 October 2018 to 21 December 2018. In sample 1, there are eight acting directors from eight CSW. This sample is non-random convenience sample. Population 2 is all social workers at CSW in Slovenia from 22/01/2019 to 18/02/2019. Sample 2 includes nine social workers from four CSW who were employed at six units of these CSW. This sample is a non-random convenience sample. I processed the data in a qualitative way with open and axial coding. At CSW, the main changes during the reorganization were related to employees who experienced changes in the performance of their work. Some did not perceive the changes to the greatest extent in the areas of some aspects of the CSW operation. To the greatest extent, employees and managers see some aspects related to the organizational structure as advantages of the implemented reorganization, as the most frequently mentioned challenges, while the shortcomings of the implemented reorganization highlight topics related to work. The factors that support the reorganization to the greatest extent were support and employees, while the factors that hindered the reorganization to the greatest extent were related to certain aspects related to employees and premises. The role of the profile of social workers at the CSW is and will be largely related to the directives, tasks, work and competences of social workers. Due to the reorganization carried out, social workers can perform social work at the CSW with high quality in some aspects, but not yet high enough quality in some other aspects where they still do not have enough time for the highest quality professional cooperation with users, also because they are overloaded with a lot of work. Concrete proposals regarding the reorganization of the CSW are to the greatest extent related to the field of work and employees. The development of the CSW and the development of the implementation of social work at the CSW in the future will be focused to the greatest extent on aspects of work and employees (new, additional jobs, better care for employees through better opportunities for education). At the end of the Master's thesis, I also give proposals related to employees (human resources, self-care), finances, premises, professional work (related to cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, cooperation with other organizations) and the public, the media, and I also list proposals for further research.
