The purpose of the master's thesis was to create a graphic design and to plan and evaluate specific functionalities: the user experience of registration, a calendar for entering appointments, a menu side bar and display of business performance analytics within an application for online ordering of services.
We divided the project into several sections, which were based on user-centered design approach. The first part included the analysis of existing user interfaces, which include a calendar for entering customer appointments, analytics for managing the company's performance, and are designed according to the software-as-a-service principle. After the analysis, we determined the framework service activities for which the use of this type of application would make it easier to work with customers, and acquired test users with whom we conducted initial interviews and then tested wireframes and final design. With the help of interviews, we created a persona and a user experience plan. Then we created information architecture, wireframes and user paths. Wireframes were refined into prototypes and tested and revised based on feedback. Before creating the final design, we created a visual design system with all the key components that we used later.
The result of the master's thesis is the development of the main components of the application for online ordering with an appropriate graphic design and a good user experience. The main parts of the application enable quick and easy creation of a user account, monitoring and entering customer appointments in the calendar, and monitoring analytical data. With a simple menu side bar, we allow users to move quickly in the application.
