The article features three high quality original picture books that share the common theme of Slovene cultural heritage. Through the story and the imagery in the folk tale How lake Bled was made the reader learns of the natural gem of the region. In Gal in the gallery by Svetlana Makarovič, the reader is guided through the National Gallery which is a building that belongs to the Slovene architectural heritage while the pictures within it are part of the movable heritage. The Boy with the red hat by Andreja Peklar, however, is linked with the Vače Situla which is part of the Slovene archaeological heritage.
