This final assignments presents a problem of excessive humidity in living spaces, which can have a big impact on the quality of living in a living space. We can reduce the amount of humidity with venitlation, which is either natural or mechanical. This raises a question, which form of dehumidification is more effective. First, we made the comparison on a theoretical level and secondly, we also wanted to confirm everything with an experiment. Our experimental space was a small apartment, that offered us the possibility of effective both natural and mehanical dehumidification. The first one was achieved by opening entrance and balcony doors, which were located on an opposite sites, while the second was achieved by air conditioning unit with a drying function. We measured the decrease in relative humidity over time with Testo meters and then processed the measurements in the Excel programming language. The results showed that investing in any form of mechanical dehumidification makes sense, because we reduce the humidity in the air more efficiently while we are not dependent on the surroundings condition.
