Knjižnica kot družbeni center – Idejna zasnova revitalizacije Knjižnice Cirila Kosmača v Tolminu

Magistrsko delo skuša skozi sodobno interpretacijo ponuditi celovito idejno arhitekturno rešitev revitalizacije degradiranega mestnega območja in razširitve Knjižnice Cirila Kosmača v Tolminu za reševanje njene prostorske stiske. Izhajajoč iz lokalne dediščine, prostorskih analiz in raziskovanja zgodovine knjižnic, skuša to magistrsko delo oblikovati prizidek knjižnice, ki bo degradiran mestni prostor zaključil v jasno organiziran mestni trg. Skupaj bi tako z medsebojnim prepletom tvorila kakovosten mestni prostor z jasnim arhitekturnim izrazom, ki bi izkazoval in podpiral nadaljnjo delo tolminske knjižnice in ji omogočal, da se utrdi kot osnovno vezivo lokalne skupnosti.

Abstract

This master's thesis aims to provide, by utilising contemporary interpretation, a comprehensive architectural conceptual solution for revitalising the degraded urban area and expanding the Public Library Ciril Kosmac in Tolmin to solve its shortage of space. Drawing from the local heritage, spatial analysis, and research of the history of libraries, it aims to design an extension to the library, which will transform the degraded urban area into a clearly organised town square. The two will, through their mutual interweaving, form a high-quality urban space with clear architectural expression, which will represent and support further work of Tolmin's library and enable its consolidation as the primary binder of the local community.
