The diploma seminar deals with Slovenian publishing after the end of World War II. It presents how Slovenian publishing houses started their work and the difficulties they faced in the process. Some publishing houses were newly established, while others continued their work from before the war. The publishing houses that were established by the state, such as Mladinska knjiga, Cankarjeva založba, and Državna založba Slovenije, had fewer problems compared to the independent publishing houses like Slovenska matica and Družba sv. Mohorja, which faced greater challenges. Družba sv. Mohorja, in particular, encountered significant difficulties in restarting its operations as it was in conflict with the ruling authorities at that time. The Communist Party opposed some publications or reduced the number of copies printed. In addition to presenting the activities of these publishing houses, the most important publications between 1945 and 1950 are also discussed.
