Literary historian Marja Boršnik (1906-1982) rejected the study Slovene literary texts without the inclusion of non-literary realities. Her view was that textual analysis was possible only after the corpus of Slovene literature was assembled. The article broaches the issue of the recapitulation of Marja Boršnik's work on the basis of her unpublished legacy by questioning her literary methodology, her search for scientific truth and sincerity, her understanding of "identity"; by way of example we emphasise the importance of the accurate reconstruction of historical fact.
