Abstract
V zadnjih letih se otroci rojevajo v izrazito digitalizirano družbo. Priča smo velikemu porastu uporabe digitalnih naprav na različnih področjih življenja pri vseh generacijah. Poleg televizije vsakodnevno uporabljamo pametne telefone, tablice, računalnike, igralne konzole in druge naprave, ki neprestano omogočajo dostop do svetovnega spleta. Mediji so del našega vsakdana in se jim praktično ne moremo izogniti, zato je pomembna medijska pismenost, ki se ji namenja premalo časa. Naloga odraslih oziroma v tem primeru tudi vzgojiteljev je, da otroka opolnomočijo za življenje v svetu medijev. Otroka je treba pripraviti na razumevanje in analiziranje medijskih vsebin ter ga opolnomočiti za kritičen pogled nanje. Diplomsko delo Medijska pismenost in njen pomen za delo v vrtcu je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu sem opredelila pojem medij, predstavila različne vrste medijev in jezik v njih ter pojasnila njihov vpliv za predšolske otroke. Osredinila sem se na pojma medijska vzgoja in medijska pismenost ter predstavila, kako se med seboj razlikujeta. V empiričnem delu sem z anketnim vprašalnikom preverila, kakšna so stališča vzgojiteljev o medijski pismenosti in kolikšen pomen ji pripisujejo. V anketi je sodelovalo 70 vzgojiteljev iz različnih vrtcev po Sloveniji. Raziskava je pokazala, da je le 26 % anketiranih vzgojiteljev jasno seznanjenih s pojmom medijska pismenost, vendar pri svojem delu večina anketiranih (93 %) vključuje medije v različnih oblikah. Rezultati kažejo, da se anketirani zavedajo različnih vplivov medijev na otroke.

Title:Media Literacy and its Relevance for Kindergarten Work
Abstract:
In recent years children are being born into a distinctly digitized society. We are witnessing a huge increase in the use of digital devices in various areas of life among all generations. In addition to television, we use smartphones, tablets, computers, game consoles and other devices that constantly need access to the Internet on a daily basis. The media are part of our everyday life and we practically can't avoid them. This is why media literacy is important and not enough time has been devoted to it. The task of adults or in this case kindergarten teachers is to empower the child to live in today's media world. It is neccessary to prepare the child to understand and analyze media content and empower him to take a critical look at it. Thesis Media literacy and its relevance for Kindergarten work consists of theoretical and empirical work. In the theoretical part, I defined the concept of media and presented different types of media and the media language. Also I explained influence of media on preschool childrens. In thesis I focused on the concepts of media education and media literacy and presented how they differ from each other. In the empirical part I used questionnaire, which help us to see what preschool teachers means about media literacy and how much importance they attribute to it. The survey involved 70 preschool teachers from the various kindergartens across Slovenia. The research showed that 26 % of involved preschool teachers are familiar with the concept of media. 93 % preschool teacher include the media in their work. Also they are aware of the various infulences of media on the child.
