Idejna zasnova revitalizacije nekdanje vojašnice Srečka Kosovela v Ajdovščini

Območje nekdanje vojašnice Srečka Kosovela je degradirano območje v središču stanovanjskega predela Ajdovščine. Naloga območje prepozna kot potencialno lokacijo za razvoj obstoječih in novih programov, ki pripomorejo k kvalitetnejšemu življenju prebivalcev soseske in mesta. Cilj revitalizacije je ustvariti območje s prepoznavno identiteto, ki s svojimi programi služi prebivalcem mesta. Teoretično-analitični del naloge analizira širše značilnosti lokalnega okolja ter valorizira obstoječe stanje območja vojašnice. Ureditev specifičnega razgibanega terena, ki ovira prehodnost in povezovanje različnih delov območja med seboj, naloga prepozna kot osrednji problem urbanistično-krajinske ureditve območja. Naloga v projektnem delu potezo zidu vojašnice, ki je v preteklosti ločevala območje od mesta, definira kot prepoznavni element območja. Nova zasnova zid preoblikuje v programski element, ki uporabnike območja združuje. Poteze ohranjenih in novih zidov postanejo osrednji element celostne urbanistično-krajinske ureditve območja. Naloga predlaga novo programsko zasnovo območja glede na že prisotne programe ter potrebe okoliških prebivalcev. V teoretsko-analitičnem delu izpostavi naraščajoče potrebe mesta po dostopnih stanovanjih ter območje bivše vojašnice prepozna kot potencialno lokacijo za pilotni projekt stanovanjske zadruge. V projektnem delu se podrobneje posveti urbanistično-arhitekturni zasnovi stanovanjske zadruge. Urbanistično zasnova smiselno zaključi območje vojašnice in ga poveže z okoliškim tkivom. Pri oblikovanju upošteva robne pogoje urbanizma ohranjenih objektov vojašnice na eni strani ter merilo stanovanjskih objektov na drugi. Stanovanjska zadruga je zasnovana kot skupina objektov na severnem delu vojašnice. Arhitekturna zasnova objektov odgovarja na specifične pogoje lokalnega podnebja in razgibanega terena mikrolokacije. Pri tem se opira na analizirane primere lokalne arhitekture ter pasivne sisteme izkoriščanja sončne energije.

• Title: Revitalisation of former military post in Ajdovščina: design concept

Abstract

The former military post Srečko Kosovel is a degraded area in the center of the residential neighborhood of Ajdovščina. The thesis recognizes the area as a potential location for the development of existing and new programs that contribute to a better quality of life for the neighborhood and town residents. The goal of revitalization is to create an area with a recognizable identity that serves the town's residents with its programme. The theoretical-analytical part of the thesis analyzes the broader characteristics of the local environment and evaluates the existing state of the military post area. The arrangement of the specific hilly landscape is identified as the central problem of the urban-landscape design, as the terrain hinders accessibility and connectivity of different parts of the area with each other. In the project part of the thesis, the military post wall, which in the past separated the area from the town, is identified as a recognizable element of the area. The new design transforms the wall into a programme element that unites users of the area. The boundaries of preserved and new walls become the central element of the comprehensive urban-landscape design of the area. The thesis proposes a new programme layout of the area based on existing programmes and the needs of surrounding residents. In the theoretical-analytical part, increasing urban needs for accessible housing are highlighted, and the former barracks area is identified as a potential location for a pilot project of a housing cooperative. In the project part, the urban-architectural design of the housing cooperative is examined in detail. The urban design sensibly completes the barracks area and connects it to the surrounding context. The design recognizes the edge conditions of the urbanism of preserved former military buildings on one side and the scale of residential buildings on the other. The housing cooperative is designed as a group of buildings in the northern part of the former military post. The architectural design of the buildings responds to the specific conditions of the local climate and hilly landscape of the micro-location. It is based on analyzed examples of local architecture and passive solar design systems.
