Abstract
Projekt zajema zamenjavo zastarele avtobusne postaje s sodobnejšo. Ta obstoječemu programu doda še kulturno dvorano, delovne in bivanjske prostore, restavracijo, kavarno, ipd. Objekt območju poveča vrednost, vzpostavi nov mestni center, z njim pa Idrija dobi novo identiteto.

Title:Small town in a small town: conceptual design of the revitalizaton of Idrija bus station
Abstract:
Idrija is a small town located in the western part of Slovenia with a rich cultural and natural heritage. The development of the town was strongly influenced by mining and the mining industry. Idrija’s identity is still inseparably linked to the mine. As the underground developed, so did the town on the surface. The master’s thesis “Small Town in a Small Town: Conceptual Design of the Revitalization of the Idrija Bus Station Area” deals with the current issue faced by many smaller towns throughout Europe - aging population and the emigration of young people. The first part highlights key data confirming the mentioned issue, presenting the town and its history, the issue of young people emigrating from Idrija to larger urban centers and abroad, and the Idrija municipality’s strategy for strategically addressing the problems of young people. The project location is also addressed. The second part of the master’s thesis presents a concrete architectural solution. The project involves replacing the outdated bus station with a more modern one. This new station adds a cultural hall, working and living spaces, a restaurant, a café, and more to the existing program. The building increases the value of the area, establishes a new city center, and gives Idrija a new identity.
