Abstract
V naši raziskavi smo testirali protimikrobno delovanje etanolnih in vodnih ekstraktov 75 slovenskih gob, ki so pripadale 68 različnim vrstam.

Title:Antimicrobial activity of aqueous and ethanolic extacts of selected Slovenian mushrooms on Gram positive and negative bacterial strains
Abstract:
In our study, we tested the antimicrobial activity of ethanol and aqueous extracts from 75 Slovenian mushrooms belonging to 68 different species. We tested the effect of these extracts on different Gram-positive and negative bacterial species using the Kirby-Bauer assay. Among the 25 ethanol extracts, antimicrobial activity was demonstrated for the first time in 15 ethanol extracts. Also, seven aqueous showed antimicrobial activity and these activities were not yet reported in scientific literature. We found that the ethanol extracts showed more and better activity than the aqueous extracts. All the organic extracts showed better antimicrobial activity on selected Gram-positive bacterial species. We also demonstrated the activity of the extracts against multiresistant S. aureus and S. pseudintermedius strains. Since the analysis of the relationship between antimicrobial production, phylogenies, and fungal lifestyle revealed no correlation, we cannot draw conclusions about the presence of active substances in individual groups of mushrooms
