Abstract
Metode dela: Pregledali smo strokovno literaturo in članke, pridobljene v spletnih podatkovnih bazah in knjižnici Zdravstvene fakultete. V praktičnem delu smo izdelali zgornjo in spodnjo totalno protezo ter slikovno prikazali postopek indirektne podložitve. Rezultati: V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni materiali in pripomočki za izvedbo indirektne podložitve zobnih protez ter slikovni prikaz podložitve. Razprava in zaključek: Podlaganje zobnih protez je najugodnejša in najpogosteje uporabljena metoda reševanja problema resorpcije alveolne kosti, a ni dolgoročna rešitev. V določenem trenutku podlaganje ni več mogoče in učinkovito. Odločiti se je treba za drugačen pristop. Rehabilitacija z zobnimi vsadki postaja vse bolj razširjena in dolgoročno uspešna metoda.

Title:Denture relining : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Toothlessness is one of the final stages among oral diseases and leads to resorption of the alveolar bone. The problem is usually solved by making a conventional denture, which restores the patient's functions of the dental system and thus the natural appearance of the face. However, this does not prevent further resorption of the oral mucosa and the alveolar bone, which continues throughout life. Consequently dentures no longer fits optimally. Therefore with jaw movements, dentures tend to move and sting. To improve the condition, we use the dental relining procedure, in which we fill in the gaps created between the existing denture and the gums. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to present, with the review of professional literature and articles, both types of dental relinings (direct and indirect) and explain plus describe the procedure of indirect dental relining in more detail. Methods: We reviewed professional literature and articles obtained from online databases and the library of Zdravstvena fakulteta. In the practical part, we made the upper and lower denture and pictorially showed the process of indirect dental relining. Results: The thesis presents materials and aids for the indirect dental relining and its pictorial presentation. Discussion and conclusion: Denture relining is the most cost-effective and used rehabilitation in solving the problem of alveolar bone resorption, but it is not a long-term solution. There comes a time when relining is no longer possible and effective. A different approach needs to be taken. Rehabilitation using dental implants is becoming increasingly widespread and long-term successful method.
