Abstract

Title:
Analysis of the energy efficiency of road lighting
Abstract:
The master thesis presents the fifth part of the standard SIST EN 13201 »Road lighting«: SIST EN 13201-5 »Road lighting Part 5 – Energy performance indicators«. Two indicators for calculating energy efficiency are presented, namely the power density indicator (Dp) and the annual energy consumption indicator (De). In the first part, the method of calculating the indicators is explained in more detail and its typical values are presented according to the road profile, road width, lighting class and lamp types. In the second part, by analyzing the energy efficiency of the lighting of streets in the Ljubljana area, we checked the applicability of the standard and checked whether the typical values prescribed by the standard can be used in practice or can only be considered as illustrative examples. At the end, we analyzed how certain factors influence the final values of the indicators.
