The University of Maribor Library Manuscript Collection keeps an unbound manuscript Folk Songs (Pesem od ledig lubezen, Pesem od Kolare, Pesem od Bratišine), written by Urban Kreps in 1847. The manuscript, written on six sheets in the Bohorič alphabet, was found in Kamnica near Maribor in 1974 and was donated to the library by director Bruno Hartman. The second song Pesem od Kolare is one of the twelve versions of folk songs about cholera found so far, and it is the only one from Styria, although it refers to the region of Carniola. The versions kept in The Institute of Ethnomusicology, Scientific Research Centre of the Slovene Academy of Sciences and Arts, were partly analysed by Zmaga Kumer in 1959. The new discovery is important because the song refers to the first wave of cholera in Slovene lands in the 1830s, while other songs appeared later.
