Abstract
Največ teoretičnega znanja so pokazali v zvezi s prepoznavo možganske kapi in najmanj v zvezi s tem, kako pristopiti oziroma kaj narediti, ko oseba negibno obleži.

Title:
Hunting injuries and first aid skills of hunting club members : diploma thesis
Abstract:
Introduction: Hunting is a widespread activity in Slovenia. It takes place in nature, often in difficult terrain and involves the use of firearms. Statistically, most hunting accidents are caused by falls, which can lead to various injuries, especially wounds and bone and joint injuries. Fortunately, accidents involving firearms are relatively rare. Hunters can also be injured by wounded game. Purpose: The aim of the diploma thesis is to investigate the theoretical knowledge of first aid measures among hunters. Methods: A questionnaire developed on the basis of a review of the relevant literature and similar studies was used to collect data. Aprinted questionnaire in Microsoft Word and its electronic version using the 1KA web application were prepared and distributed to members of different hunting clubs. This approach was chosen to reach as many potential respondents as possible. Results: 161 members of different hunting clubs participated in the survey. The respondents showed an average level of theoretical knowledge about first aid. They agreed to refresh their knowledge and attend a possible course on the subject. They knew the most about recognising a stroke and the least about responding to or behaving with a person lying motionless. Discussion and conclusion: On a 10-point rating scale (0 stands for no knowledge at all and 10 for very good first aid knowledge), the respondents rated their own first aid knowledge on average 6.3. The survey also showed that hunters carry first aid kits with the necessary equipment. It is recommended that hunters refresh their first aid skills more frequently, e. g. once a year, along with their firearms and marksmanship tests, as first aid is essential in activities such as hunting.
