In the master thesis, we analyticaly and numerically address stability of a simplified mechanical model of an airplane wing as a function of airflow velocity or dynamic pressure acting on the wing. We are searching for critical dynamic pressure, at which the considered system transitions from the stable to the unstable region. In the thesis, we present the solution of the stability problem for a linear and a nonlinear system. We describe theoretical background and application of mathematical methods, used to solve the problem. From the results, we see that the backlash in an elastic support has a relatively large effect on the wing oscillation and on the critical dynamic pressure.
