Abstract
Uporaba e-poštnih vabil je pomemben način privabljanja anketirancev k sodelovanju v spletnih anketah, kadar razpolagamo z njihovimi e-poštnimi naslovi in ustreznimi soglasji.

Title:Redesign of the user interface for sending e-mail invitations in 1KA survey software tool
Abstract:
Recruiting respondents via e-mail invitations is an important method of web survey solicitation, when we have a list of e-mail addresses and an informed consent of potential survey participants. The aim of this master’s thesis was to identify ways of improving the usability of the user interface for sending e-mail invitations in 1KA survey software tool. Low perceived usability and high importance of the respective user interface, serve as a starting point. Another aspect is the increasing practice of recruiting respondents via e-mail invitations, that we have witnessed in recent years due to the increasing use of online panels. A literature review showed that the process of managing e-mail invitations to web surveys is in practice very similar to the process of sending e-mail campaigns and newsletters, although the two processes also differ in certain aspects. A comparison analysis of ten web survey software tools showed common characteristics and differences between their user interfaces for sending e-mail invitations, suggesting which functionalities and elements can be treated as standard for such tools and which functionalities and elements can be understood as a competitive advantage. Using formative usability tests on a sample of nine participants, we identified several important usability issues with the existing user interface of 1KA. Accordingly, we have proposed several recommendations for its improvement, which we presented and specified with the high-fidelity wireframes of user interfaces.
