Abstract
V ospredju so predvsem zgodnjecesarski odlomki rimske keramike, novci, kovinski in stekleni predmeti.

Title:Early Roman settlement finds from the Špoljar site at Zgornji Breg in Ptuj
Abstract:
This master’s thesis is intended for presenting the early Imperial Roman site Špoljar and its position in early Poetovio. For this purpose, the early Roman finds from Špoljar excavated in 2004 were examined, catalogued and analysed. The focus was mainly on early Imperial Roman pottery fragments, coins, and metal and glass objects. During the systematic processing of the ceramic finds, an archive of facture types from the site was created and a comparative analysis with the material from Celeia and the grave fields of Poetovio was made. Data from older excavations in Ptuj was also collected for a better understanding of the early Imperial era in the wider area of Zgornji Breg. With this data, a tentative reconstruction of the general appearance of Poetovio in the 1st century AD was made and the roles of Zgornji Breg and our site within the Roman town were presented. Additionally, data on the early Roman settlement on both banks of the Drava River is presented. The thesis concludes by presenting the issue of the possible location of a legionary camp, potential smaller military camps, and potential vici and canabae in Poetovio during the early Imperial era.
