The year 2020 represents an important turning point for Slovenian education when the covid-19 epidemic forced the educational institutions to provide remote schooling. As a French teacher, I tried to assess the success of remote schooling from my point of view. Learning a foreign language is a process in which the pupil gradually develops four language skills simultaneously. That is the framework of my research task, which aims to determine how and to what extent the pupils of the last three grades of the primary school have developed the skills of listening, speech, reading and writing during the lockdown.
The integration of digital competences in foreign language learning provided good results before the epidemic distance learning that could be perceived as a stress test. The analysis of impact of such way of learning will expose the blockers and the facilitators of learning with the support of ICT and will bring out approaches and tools that enable faster, better in consequently more efficient achievement of foreign language learning objectives.
