In my master's thesis, I present state-led gentrification in the city district of Amsterdam - Noord. I am researching what social and state-political trends we can identify if we focus on state support for gentrification processes. In addition, I present the global context of gentrification, thereby addressing economic changes and presenting the role capital plays in contemporary urban processes. I also present gentrification as a form of social control. In my master's, I present the history of housing policies in the Netherlands and the key events that influenced the adoption of specific policies. The aim of the master's thesis is to identify the motives of the decision-makers behind state-led gentrification. In addition, I am also interested in the perception of these processes by the inhabitants of the Noord. At the end of my master's thesis, I compare the findings from Amsterdam - Noord with conditions in Slovenia. I used the descriptive method with which I study theory and key political documents, and in addition, I also wrote the work based on field research, as I conducted semi-structured interviews in October 2022 in Amsterdam Noord.
