This thesis examines the phenomenon of Adolf Hitler and his appearance in literature. It analyses five literary works from different genres in which Adolf Hitler appears as a main or as a supporting character; a short story Genesis and Catastrophe: A True Story by Roald Dahl (1959), a satirical novel Look Who's Back by Timur Vermes (2012), a young-adult novel The Boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne (2015), a satire Adolf Hitler's Third World War and a Short Course in Ruling for Beginners by Miloš Mikeln (1980) and a science-fiction novel The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick (1962). The analysis of each work focuses on the character analysis of the fictional Hitler. The main contribution of the thesis is the comparison of the five fictional Hitlers and their contextualization.
