Abstract
V opornem empiričnemu delu obravnavam vzroke in posledice veganstva, informiranost družbe, vsesplošno povezovanje veganske prehrane z zdravo prehrano, ponudbo na trgu in prihodnost veganstva.

Title:Vegan culture in Slovenia
Abstract:
This thesis presents a detailed overview of the vegan culture and its situation in Slovenia. In order to understand the different dietary models, it is necessary to understand the whole culture of eating, which is a complex process of different social and cultural factors, and for this purpose I first discuss the history of eating. I explore dietary patterns through different historical periods, and later I look in more detail at vegetarianism and then veganism. In addition to an introductory theoretical part, the thesis also consists of an empirical part, where the results of interviews conducted with ten vegans are presented. In the supporting empirical part I discuss the causes and consequences of veganism, the information society, the general association of vegan diets with healthy eating, the market offer and the future of veganism. Through theoretical and supporting empirical work, the thesis identifies the social and cultural causes and implications of vegan culture for the wider food culture.

Keywords:veganism, vegetarianism, food culture, social ways of eating, meat
