Abstract
Varnost je za vsakega posameznika temeljna vrednota, je osebnostna pravica. To velja tudi v povezavi s hrano, saj kot potrošniki pričakujemo, da je hrana kakovostna, varna, brez dejavnikov tveganj, in da smo seznanjeni z vsemi potrebnimi informacijami, ki jih pred zaužitjem potrebujemo V magistrskem delu je predmet obravnave znanje in vedenje osnovnošolskih otrok v povezavi z varno hrano. Podatke smo pridobili z anketiranjem učencev drugega in tretjega vzgojno-izobraževalnega obdobja, kjer je bil uporabljen spletni vprašalnik. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih 120 učencev, od tega 65 učencev četrtega in petega razreda, ki se z vsebino o varni hrani pri učnem procesu še niso srečali, in 55 učencev šestega in sedmega razreda, ki so te vsebine obravnavali pri predmetu gospodinjstvo. Raziskovali smo, ali obstajajo razlike v znanju in vedenju osnovnošolskih otrok v povezavi z varno hrano glede na spol in razred. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da imajo učenci zadovoljivo znanje o zagotavljanju higiene in varne hrane. Raziskava je pokazala, da učenci razumejo načela dobre higienske prakse in jih v praksi tudi upoštevajo. Učenci se zavedajo, da je varna hrana za nas pomembna, da je potrebno vzpostaviti ustrezno higieno pri delu z živili in znati rokovati, ravnati in pripraviti živila na način, da preprečimo okužbe ali zastrupitve s hrano. Glede na ugotovitve raziskave si učenci želijo izvedeti več o zagotavljanju varne hrane, znanje, pridobljeno v domači kuhinji, pa preko učiteljev in organiziranega praktičnega pouka v šoli še dodatno nadgraditi. Ključnega pomena je, da učenci v času vzgojno-izobraževalnega procesa usvojijo koncepte varne hrane, zato jih je potrebno dodatno izobraževati in ozaveščati o pomembnosti upoštevanja načel dobre higienske prakse in zagotavljanju varne hrane.

Title:Knowledge and Behaviour of Primary School Children in Relation to Safe Food
Abstract:
Safety is one of the fundamental values for every human being. It is a personal right. This also applies when we talk about food. As consumers we expect the food to be high quality, safe and without any risk factors. Consumers also want to be informed about everything we need to know before we consume it. Students in schools, too, have the right to safe food. Therefore, the subject of my thesis is the knowledge of school children about safe food. The information was collected through a survey. Second and third triade students answered questions in an online questionnaire. 120 students participated in the survey. There were 65 four- and five-graders that have not had any classes on this topic yet, and there were 55 six- and seven-graders that have learned about food in Home Economics. The survey tried to find out whether knowledge among students differs according to their class and sex. Results of the survey showed that students have adequate knowledge about hygiene and safe food. It also showed that students understand the principles of good hygiene practice and that they also apply them. Students are aware that safe food is important for everybody and that good hygiene must be established, as well as that food must be treated in the way that food infections and food poisoning are prevented. Based on the results of the survey students wish to learn more about providing safe food. Also, students want to upgrade the knowledge acquired in their home kitchen with lectures and organised practical lessons in school. It is very important that they learn the concepts of safe food in the proces of their primary school education. Therefore, it is important to educate ourselves and raise awareness about good hygiene practice and providing safe food.
