The master's thesis Symbolism and parallelism between scouts and the Catholic religion is based on a theoretical and empirical approach of finding parallels between the symbols used by scouts in connection with religion. The purpose of the thesis is to find out which parallels exist in this area by comparing scout symbolism and the symbolism of religion, as well as other symbols that can be connected to the scout organization. Our aim is to show, through empirical research, interviews, and focus groups, what meaning do scout symbols have and what role do they play in the lives of their members and how they influence the consolidation of the Catholic faith in the context of different age groups of scouts. With this research, we want to find out what influence the Catholic religion has on Scouting; what religious symbols do scouts use; what significance do they have for their engagement and what influence do they have on the personal development of the scouts. In the thesis, we find that although some Scout and Catholic symbols are very similar at first glance, there are important differences between the Scout and religious perceptions and the use of the latter. Therefore, the purpose and meaning of a certain symbol in both organizations may also differ. In any case, the scout organization operates autonomously without the involvement of the Church, which only provides it with spiritual support when the organization needs it.
