The first Slovenian satirical newspaper Brencelj, was published in 1869. The newspaper was actively published for almost two decades with minor pauses due to external factors. It was mostly printed and published in Ljubljana, however, there were a few copies printed and published in Maribor. Through satire and humor it represented and summarized the work and behaviors of Germans as the opponents of the Slovenian movement. With caricatures, illustrations and witty comments, the first satirical newspaper written in the Slovenian language brought about Slovenian movement to all Slovenians - regular townsfolk, as well as those of higher education. This paper
focuses on available literature from the years 1869–1874 and 1879, 1880, that were found in digitalised form. This paper contains the entire bibliography of literature, which was discussed in the years listed above, whereas the data is published on the Wikivir website. The paper contains a thorough analysis of the relationship between genders and unidentifiable authors, the relationships between longer and shorter texts, their sequels, genres, subtitles, and between works that are anonymous and those with a known author.
