This study examines the flood risks of the Medija watershed and proposes holistic solutions to minimize the impacts of flooding on the infrastructure and safety of local inhabitants. By comparing the archives of past flood events and hydrologic studies, actual flood risk is determined and verified on site. Holistic analysis of the stream, spatial development, and needs of local inhabitants, is done at the three scales: the watershed, problematic section of the stream, and the settlement Kisovec. By using landscape architectural design in flood management previously underutilized public properties now become an important part of the built environment for the public infrastructure, ecosystems, and the community.
